Type 2 Diabetes
We are excited to announce that our office is conducting a clinical research study for adults with type 2 diabetes that may be of interest to you. This clinical research study is testing the safety and effectiveness of an investigational study drug on controlling blood sugar in people with type 2 diabetes.
To qualify you for participation in this study you must:
- Be 18-70 years old
- Be treating your type 2 diabetes with oral medication (metformin)
- Have not needed insulin therapy within the past 12 weeks (about 3 months)
** We can explain additional conditions that must be met to be eligible to enroll in this study.
If you qualify, you will be eligible to receive all study related medical care, medication, and lab tests, at no charge.

- Type 2 diabetes with Cardiovascular Disease

Dual 1 Trial
Those who have type 2 diabetes, and are currently taking a daily dose of metformin (or metformin and pioglitazone), are invited to find out if they may qualify for a clinical research study to determine the safety and effectiveness of an investigational medication to manage diabetes.
Each individual, 18 years or older, will be evaluated to determine his or her eligibility. Among other criteria, those who have previously taken insulin as a treatment option are not eligible. Those who qualify will receive study medication, study-related medical exams, lab tests, and blood glucose testing supplies at no charge.

Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy
Those who are currently diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes and have also been diagnosed with diabetic peripheral neuropathy for at least 3 months and currently taking a medication to help with the neuropathy (Tramadol, Gabapentin, Effexor, Cymbalta) with inadequate control on the current medication.

If you have type 2 diabetes, and are between 18 and 80 years of age, find out if you qualify for a clinical research study of an investigational oral diabetes medication. You may be eligible if you blood sugar is not well-controlled and you are being treated with Metformin alone.
If eligible to participate, you will be seen by a study doctor and receive study-related testing and medication at no cost. If enrolled, you may be reimbursed for parking and travel expenses.
